Java Front-End Developer (AH2978315) paying €40k – €45k

Your Role

The Front-End Developer’s responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the definition of project requirements.
• Investigating the feasibility of the requirements and estimating the impact and effort.
• Designing technical solutions and writing technical specifications (XML)
• Developing, maintaining and improving front-end applications (Java & XML), libraries and supporting frameworks.
• Pro-actively suggesting and implementing improvements.
• Writing and maintaining formal specifications for web services based on XINS.
• Supporting the Interaction Design Team in writing XSLT, JavaScript and Ajax.
• Participating in the packaging and delivering of software deliverables.
• Researching (potential) problems with applications deployed in a production environment by analyzing and combining information from different sources (access logs, application logs, etc).

Your Profile

• 2+ years experience as a Software Developer; preferably within an ISP or Telco.
• Excellent knowledge/experience with object orientation, Java, XML and web services.
• Good knowledge/experience with source code versioning systems and applications frameworks.
• Experienced with UNIX/Linux systems and commands.
• Knowledge and experience of standard web development such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and, ideally, Ajax.
• Familiarity with code profiling and unit testing methods preferred.
• Prior exposure to XSLT is a benefit.
• Analytical, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Result-oriented and thorough, hands-on and pragmatic (knows how to get things done).
• Enthusiastic, communicative and positive.
• Able to learn and work without supervision.
• Excellent English communication skills – both written and spoken.
• HBO/university technical degree or significant work experience.
